The Forked network
Each dot marks an area with one or more Forked nodes that were active in the last 7 days. You can zoom in to city level. Click a dot to see which nodes are in that area.
Locations are approximate on purpose
A node's area comes from its internet address, which we look up on our own server and then round to a grid square about 11 km across. The map only ever shows the centre of that square. When a node is the only one in its square, we widen it to about 55 km so nobody can use the map to find where a single node runs. The map never publishes a node's address or its exact location, and the map's own records store only the grid square.
Node IDs
Each node shows as a short map ID, never its full key.
What "active" means
A node counts as active when it checked in with the network at least once in the last 7 days. A node that stays quiet for a week drops off the map. Areas are refreshed once a week. "Location unknown" counts active nodes whose address could not be placed on the map.
Map data and your privacy
Everything on this page, including the map itself, loads from our own server, so viewing it sends nothing to any other company and sets no cookies. The map is drawn from Natural Earth's public domain data, and shows coastlines, borders and towns but no streets, on purpose. IP Geolocation by DB-IP.
